Volunteers are the heartbeat of our organization and help make Special Olympics possible.
There is always something to do. Check out these volunteer opportunities.

At the heart of the continuing growth and success of the Special Olympics movement are hundreds of volunteers, because Special Olympics is a program of people helping people. These volunteers come from all strata of society: high school and college groups, service clubs, teachers, parents and businesses, all working together to make Special Olympics a dynamic and exciting program.

Volunteer opportunities include:

    · coaching and training athletes,

    · serving as a buddy, or
    · volunteer to help at one event.

To volunteer with Special Olympics in New Hanover County, an application and screening form must be completed and a background check may be carried out. Our goal is to best match your interests, talents and availability with our opportunities so that you have a fulfilling volunteer experience with us
